RACE LOCATION OF TNT RACES: CANYON VIEW PARK
(MAP OF SUBWAY RACES WILL BE ADDED LATER)
.
1 Mile up Provo Canyon from 800 N and University Ave in Orem up East Provo Canyon Road (US-189). Mapquest.com will not recognize this location, but if you type in just the city “Christmas City, UT,” it will take you just 200 M (600 ft) from the entrance. It is on the north side of the road, across the road from Christmas City. It is the first park up the canyon. “Canyon View Park” is written above the entrance to the parking lot. If you are coming from Orem/Provo, it will be on your left side. There will be a left-hand turn lane in the middle of Provo Canyon Rd for you to use. Be careful turning into the park because the oncoming traffic speed limit is about 50 mph.

The 10K is on an asphalt running, walking, and biking trail and closed to motorized traffic providing cleaner air and more safety, but the trail crosses over the Mt. Timpanogos Park parking lot entrance in the first quarter mile, so be careful at that one intersection for cars. Stay in the south lane (the lane closest to the river), the pedestrian lane, passing other oncoming runners on the right, and passing slower runners and walkers going the same direction on the left, as when driving. Bikers often pass by without warning at high speeds coming around blind corners, so be careful around corners and stay in the pedestrian lane as much as possible. Occasionally runners, walkers, and bikers like to go up and down the trail together, which can make up to 8 lanes of traffic, which makes passing difficult and dangerous, since the trail was only designed for 2 lanes of biking traffic (divided by white dashes) and 1 lane of pedestrian traffic (separated from bike lanes by a solid yellow line). Please run single file to prevent the congestion of the trail. We are guests on the trail and need to share it with all other users, whether or not they are in the race. Do not cut the tangents. The course is measured only in the pedestrian lane. If we want to continue to have permission to use the trail, we must not interrupt the normal use of the trail.WINTER TRAIL USE:
There usually aren’t any bikers on the trail during snowy, cold months, so if there is ice or snow on the trail, please run in the areas that are cleared so that you don’t pack down snow, making it hard to remove later, and also to prevent your own slipping. Use caution and slow down to a speed that you are not going to slip on steep, icy, snowy parts of the course, especially sharp turns, such as near the finish.

Canyon View Park (in the lower half of the picture) is just south of Timpanogos Park (just above it and to the left in the picture). The river and trail separate these two parks. Canyon View Park is closest to Canyon Road.

This shows where you turn into the Canyon View Park parking lot. You come to a round-about and can park in either the East or West parking lots. The East lot, the bigger one, is closest to the largest pavilion where registration will take place unless another group has reserved it and comes (during reservation season March?-September), in which case we will be at one of the smaller pavilions. There are very nice, clean, and heated restrooms year-round with mirrors and stalls and a drinking fountain on the outside of it (near the west parking lot). In the event that the restroom is closed for occasional maintenance, the County usually provides a port-a-potty(s) available in the parking lot. There is a playground with a jungle gym and a volleyball sand pit and grass to play on (or snow during the winter). Pay close attention to children because there is no fence between the park and the 50 mph traffic on Canyon Rd or the river.
